The northern region of Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, produces some of the best coffee in the country, mainly the Caturra variety. Small farmers sell their coffee to large dry mills called beneficios . The coffee trees of Las Mimosas . are located along the long-dormant Momotombo volcano, on the right bank of Lago Xolotlán opposite the Nicaraguan capital Managua . The volcano has been quiet since its last eruption in 1905, but 110 years later in 2015 it erupted again.
The low acidity makes it preferred for espresso drinks with milk, as well as for lovers of coffee with a balanced taste.
